On-Campus Interview Program Student Policy
Students who have signed up for interviews with employers coming on campus must keep their commitment to the interview unless there are extreme circumstances preventing attendance (e.g. illness, death in the family). If a student is unable to keep the appointment, a call must be made as soon as possible to the Office of Career Planning notifying the staff of the situation (216-687-6871; do not use email), and the staff will attempt to fill the interview slot. Failure to notify the office may result in the student being barred from other OCP activities and interviews.
Employers expect that when they have committed to an interview, the interviewee will be present. A “hole” in the interview schedule may be productively filled if there is prior knowledge, but if the interviewer must wait to see if the interviewee will appear, that time is wasted. This reflects poorly on the student as well as the law school. Additionally, other students who would have happily interviewed with the employer are prevented from doing so when timely notification is not given. A positive view of the Cleveland-Marshall student body is beneficial to everyone.
