The Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce is now soliciting papers for its October 2000 symposium on "Admiralty and Popular Culture." The New York Law School Law Review is planning an upcoming issue that will be devoted to New York Law School alumnus Chester F. Carlson, the inventor of the photocopy machine. CRIME STATISTICS. A new link on the web site of the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics offers statistical summaries of drug-related crimes, law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Researchers can view data on arrests and seizures of illicit drugs, on federal spending on drug-control programs, and on the treatment of offenders, both those on probation and those incarcerated.
