Circulation Services
and Reserve MaterialsCirculation ServicesThe Law Library is primarily a research and reference collection of law and law-related materials to be used within the library. Loan periods for circulating materials are:
A valid CSU I.D. card, a valid Cleveland-Marshall Alumni Association card, or an Ohio Supreme Court Bar card are the forms of identification required for circulation privileges in the Law Library. Library users without one of the above I.D. cards are not eligible for circulation privileges. A driver's license is acceptable identification for use, within the library, of reserve materials. Circulation rules are available at the Information Services Desk. Renewals are not automatically approved. If another user has placed a hold on an item, the material must be returned. All library materials in circulation are subject to recall. Users with circulation privileges are subject to penalties for overdue books and possible loss of library use for misuse of these privileges. If a user is unable to find an item in its proper location, s/he may check at the Information Services Desk where records are kept of all library materials signed out, overdue, at the bindery, or on reserve. Report forms for missing items are completed when no location record has been established. Searches are conducted regularly, and the requesting person is notified when the desired materials are located. If the material is not readily available, interlibrary loan services are available for the Cleveland-Marshall community. Reserve Materials The reserve (RR) collection is located at the Information Services Desk. It contains hornbooks, handbooks, nutshells and study guides, a current Ohio practice collection, bound volumes of course examinations, current faculty evaluations, and the current issues of periodicals. The Law faculty course reserve items are also located in this area. Reserve room materials are available upon request for a two-hour period. These materials do not leave the library unless a special borrowing privilege is applicable. The library may recall overdue reserve room materials to make them available to other patrons. Materials located in the reserve collection are indicated by "RR" or "Reserve" notation in Scholar, the online catalog. A valid form of identification must be presented when charging out reserve material.
