Law Student Usernames, Passwords, IDs and PINS
As a student of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, you will receive (or be asked to create) a variety of Usernames, Passwords, and PINs. The following is an explanation of the uses for each of these:
CSU Username &Password
Provides access to:
- CampusNet: CampusNet enables you to manage your CSU account, forward your CSU Email, add and drop classes, view and print your schedule, view grades, and request transcripts.
- Wireless@CSU: Information on the CSU wireless network.
- CSU Email Account: See CSU Email Information.
- Borrowing OhioLINK Materials via the OhioLINK Catalog. You can borrow materials from any OhioLINK institution library. OhioLINK includes 84 college and university libraries, the State Library of Ohio, and Cuyahoga County Public Library.
How to get one:
- Information on this username and password is contained in the CM Law Admissions Welcome packet.
CM Law Username & Password
Provides access to:
- CM Law Library Computer Lab Account: Reserved for CM Law students, the Law Library Computer Lab has over 50 workstations. You must log into your Computer Lab Account in order to use a workstation.
- CM Law Email Account.
- Online Course Materials: On the Current Students - Student Login Web page you will be able to connect to electronic materials for selected College of Law courses.
- Special Services on Law Library Web site:
Past Exams – A searchable database of past CM Law exams; exams are full-text.
Bar Exam Resource Guide – Provides detailed information on the Ohio bar and the bar of other states, as well as exam preparation resources.
How to get one:
- Information on this username and password is contained in the CM Law Admissions Welcome packet.
CSU Scholar/OhioLINK PIN
Provides access to:
- My Account feature on Scholar, which enables you to renew your checked-out materials and see the status of your requested materials.
- Remote Access to databases, including OhioLINK Research Databases and certain electronic databases purchased by the Law Library and/or University Library.
How do I get a PIN?
- Go to Scholar and click on "My Account "
- Enter your name and CSU ID# and click on submit
- The system will prompt you to enter a new PIN
LexisNexis Activation Code & Westlaw Password
What are LexisNexis and Westlaw?
- LexisNexis and Westlaw are electronic legal research services that provide access to tens of thousands of full text databases composed of cases, statutes, regulations, law review articles, practice materials, newspaper articles, and many other materials.
How do I get access?
- You will receive a LexisNexis activation code and Westlaw password at the Law Library orientation. These will enable you to register, and set up custom usernames and passwords, on LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- LexisNexis:
- At the lexisnexis.com/lawschool page, below "Student - Register Your Activation Code" in the middle column of information, click on Register Now
- Follow the directions and prompts to create your custom ID and password.
- If you need to edit/update your registration information, at the lexisnexis.com/lawschool page, below "Student - Register Your Activation Code" in the middle column of information, click on Register Now and follow the directions and prompts.
- Westlaw:
- At the lawschool.westlaw.com page, inside the box along the left side, click on REGISTER PASSWORD.
- Follow the directions and prompts to create your custom username and password.
- The custom username and password is used for access via the lawschoolwestlaw.com page. If you go through regular westlaw.com, use your originally issued password and enter whatever "client id" you wish to identify the research session.
- If you need to edit/update your registration information, at the lawschool.westlaw.com page, inside the blox along the left side, click on REGISTER PASSWORD and follow the directions and prompts.

CALI Institution Authorization Code
What is CALI?
- The CALI Library of Lessons includes over 600 lessons covering 32 legal education subject areas.
How do I get access?
- You will receive the CM Law Student CALI Institution Authorization Code at the Law Library orientation. This is needed for you to create and register a username and password, as well as access CALI Lessons.
