Computing Westlaw Costs - An Example

Use the West Publishing Price Sheet 09.23.08, Schedule A at page 17 of the pdf document.

1. On Westlaw, in the search for a database box, type in florida briefs.
2. Click        next to the database Florida Briefs Multibase to get the rate
3. The information tells you that it is a Select Rate Database. You can click Subscriber to find the per search cost (although Subsciber does not work on the law school plan.)
4. Look at the Price Sheet above. The Select rate = $11.03/min
5. Add communication charges - .22/min
6. Add print/download costs – .04 per line  or $20 per document
