Help with Legal Subject Courses
Find Study Aids via Legal Research Guides:
Our Research Guides on various legal subjects (torts, evidence, contracts, etc.) contain a list of study aids on that topic. There should be a link to "study aids" at the top of the guide. The Exam Preparation Guide also lists study aid titles, including audio CDs. For subjects where there is no Research Guide, go to the Exam Preparation Guide and do Control F to find a study aid on a certain topic.
Find Study Aids by Browsing
The majority of the study aids are either in room A066 (one level down from the first floor) or behind the information services desk (on reserve). A066 items can be checked out, while the reserve items are for in-library use only for two hour periods.
Finding Study Aids on Scholar:
Try a keyword search on Scholar for one of the following (these are names of study aids) and possibly add the name of a legal subject to the search (ex. contracts):
Law School Legends (a series of CDs)
Outstanding Professor Series (another series of CDs)
Examples and Explanations
Sum and Substance
Understanding Series
Questions and Answers
Core Concepts and Key Questions
Concepts and Insights
Black Letter Outlines
(The above are roughly in order of popularity. But you may want to try "Understanding Series" first because it has a large number of titles)) So, the keyword search would be "contract examples and explanations".
Find Study Aid TItles via Georgetown Law Database
Another way to find study aid titles by topic is to use Georgetown Law Library's Browse for Databases and Research Guides by Topic. Select the desired topic, then select "treatise finder". There, you will see a list of treatises, including study aids. Study aids are marked with a light bulb. Enter the title into Scholar to see if our library has a copy.
