Cleveland-Marshall College of Law

The Law Library

In 1997, the Cleveland-Marshall Law Library moved into a new $18 million wing of the law school—a light-filled structure of glass and brick that is the largest law library space in Ohio and houses the state’s largest legal collection, over 500,000 bound and microform volumes. The Library offers access to thousands of legal resources in electronic format. Among the its resource strengths are federal, state, and international legal materials; Ohio and federal legislative history; and collections in urban law, health care law, corporate law, Constitutional law, and many other practice-specific collections. Designated as a United States federal government documents selective depository in 1979, the library also has an extensive collection of United States government documents.

The law library has developed interlibrary loan agreements with other libraries in order to provide patrons access to the universe of legal materials. Additionally, the Law Library is a member of OhioLINK.

The Law Library staff members are trained to provide priority service to the faculty and students of the College of Law, while also serving other members of the Cleveland State University community, alumni, and members of the bar. The Law Library services and collections are also available to the general public.
