Sasha Swoveland is a third-year law student at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.  She graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University with a B.A. in Political Science and History.  During her undergraduate career, Sasha completed an honor’s thesis entitled “The History They Should Have Known,” which is a historical analysis of financial bailouts in the United States.  Upon acceptance into law school, Sasha was awarded the Stark County Bar Scholarship and the Horowitz Legal Scholarship.  During the 2011-2012 school year, Sasha assisted Professor Phyllis Crocker as an Academic Fellow in criminal law.  As a Journal Associate, she received the Barbara J. Tyler Award for Best Note of the Year, as well as the Associate of the Year Award.  Her Note, Surrogacy and Insurance:  The Call for Statutory Reform in Ohio, will be published in the Journal of Law and Health, Volume 26, Issue 1 (forthcoming Fall 2012).  Sasha spent the past summer clerking for Berkman, Gordon, Murray & DeVan.
