Jim von der Heydt is a 3L and former evening student.  He graduated from Princeton in 1996 and in 2003 earned a Harvard PhD in English.  His book about American ocean poetry, titled At the Brink of Infinity, was published in 2006.  He was a college lecturer and administrator for three years before moving to Shaker Heights in 2008 with his wife Meg and three daughters, Bess, Nora, and Iris.  He is on the Cleveland-Marshall Trial Advocacy team and is the Law Review's Executive Submissions Editor. His Note, 'Ripple Effects,' is about the error of applying Iqbal to statements of subject-matter jurisdiction and will be published in the Cleveland State Law Review. Next year he intends to join the law firm of Ulmer & Berne.
