The legal extern will spend 10 weeks, full-time, with the 4-member legal team.  5 weeks will be spent on the civil side (more administrative) and 5 weeks on the criminal side (significant courtroom exposure), learning all components of overcoming barriers to employment for their clients.

This externship is available only in the summer term, and  students must register for 5 credits (40 hours per week). Students in this externship also participate in an Externship Seminar conducted at the law school by the externship faculty supervisor. Graded Pass/Fail.

This is a wonderful opportunity for public service minded students who want to be exposed to both civil and criminal litigation.  Interested students must contact Office of Career Planning, LB 137 in the Student Services Center,216-687-6871, career@law.csuohio.edu.  An Externship application, signed by Career Planning and student, a resume, cover letter and writing sample must be submitted for consideration through Symplicity.  The supervising staff at Towards Employment will make the final selection of students following an interview process.
