Matthew W. Shepherd
Matthew W. Shepherd is an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the National Security and Cyber Unit at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio in Cleveland, Ohio. Shepherd has worked at the US Attorney’s Office in Cleveland since June 2010, spending time in the Major Crimes Unit and OCDETF and Narcotics Unit before moving to the National Security and Cyber Unit. Prior to moving to Cleveland, Shepherd worked at the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama in Montgomery, Alabama from February 2007 through June 2010, where he was the district’s Project Safe Neighborhoods coordinator and primarily prosecuted cases involving firearms, drugs, and violent crime. Before joining the Department of Justice, Shepherd served approximately four and a half years on active duty in the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, with assignments in Korea, Germany, and Iraq. Shepherd graduated from Harvard Law School in 2001 and from the College of William and Mary in 1998.
