Frederick Douglass Moot Court Night

The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law’s Frederick Douglass Moot Court Team will be arguing in front of Judges Melody Stewart and Larry Jones of the Eighth District Court of Appeals  and Chief Judge Solomon Oliver, Jr. of the Northern District of Ohio in preparation for their upcoming regional competition in Chicago, Illinois. The program will flush out an excellence analysis of Constitutional law, specifically the Voting Rights Act and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

Questions:

  1. Whether Georgiabama's felon disenfranchisement statute violates § 2 of the Voting Rights Act
  2. Whether Georgiabama's felon disenfranchisement statute violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
