synopsis

Cyber attacks cost organizations an estimated $400 billion every year and the number and sophistication of these attacks rises every year.  Insurance plays an important role in managing cyber risk and the range of insurance products available is rapidly expanding and evolving to include innovative solutions that not only transfer risk but also assist organizations in preventing and managing cyber attacks.

This event will feature two expert panels that will cover the key practical issues in assessing, pricing and insuring cyber risk.  The first panel will explain the range and variety of cyber risks organizations face, the products that insurers have developed to cover these risks, and the factors organizations should consider in selecting cyber risk coverage.

The second panel will examine in detail the issues that arise after a cyber attack.  Industry veterans will outline the process that typically unfolds following a data breach and the role that insurance plays, including the key decisions organizations face, how to initiate a claim, and the services that insurers and others provide.

A networking reception will follow in the Law School Atrium from 5-6 pm.
