Cleveland State University National Lawyers Guild will present a three-day symposium discussing the topic of movement lawyering, covering a range of topics discussed by attorneys and community members.
Day Three: Law for the People
- Put into practice, movement lawyering can take many forms, and lawyers practicing in all areas can use their expertise in the law to align themselves with social movements. For instance, criminal defense and civil litigation attorneys often align themselves with police and government misconduct dissent movements. Environmental attorneys and civil litigators may find themselves working together on class actions and doing race-discrimination work. Today's panel will focus on speakers who have built successful careers as practicing movement lawyers in a variety of fields.
