Jon Beckman is a third-year student at Cleveland-Marshall. He graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Arts of Social Science/History and cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in Social Studies with a concentration in History. While at Edinboro University, Jon was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. Prior to law school, Jon was a high school teacher in Corry, Pennsylvania where he was also the Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. Jon was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He served in Iraq as a combat medic with the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team in 2008-2009. Currently Jon is an extern with the Honorable Judge Patricia A. Gaughan, District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Jon spent last summer clerking at United Refining Company of Pennsylvania, and with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection as a Public Interest Fellow. He competed at the Rendigs National Products Liability Moot Court Competition last spring and won Best Oralist at the Cleveland-Marshall Intrascholastic Moot Court Competition. Jon clerked with the law firm of Quinn Busek Leemhuis Toohey & Kroto in Erie, Pennsylvania his 1L summer.
