There can be no doubt that technology has revolutionized the practice of law. We are proud that Cleveland-Marshall has been nationally recognized for our outstanding use and support of technology in legal education. Just a sampling of the technology initiatives we have put into place includes:
The entire law school is covered by a state-of-the-art wireless network. This network allows our students to access the Internet from any location inside the law building. Students can also use this wireless network in the outdoor areas directly surrounding the building. A list of the equipment required for using this wireless network, along with installation instructions is available online at the IS&T website .
Twelve of the rooms in the College of Law have been designated 'technology classrooms.' These rooms include smart podiums, LCD projectors, evidence cameras, and high-end audio systems, while our seminar rooms feature LCD video monitors and wall-port connections for laptops and other video sources.
Our Moot Court Room is another cutting edge venue for instructional technology. This room features the same equipment found in our current technology classrooms with the addition of an advanced LCD projector combined with a huge 30' projection screen.
The renovation of our building has provided us the opportunity to add further exposure to cutting-edge technology during your legal education.
Most courses at Cleveland-Marshall participate in our exams on computers program allowing students to take their final exams on laptop computer. This program has proven has been a fantastic success and has been a very popular option with both our professors and students.
Our faculty members are moving their classes beyond the confines of the traditional classrooms, by offering additional material online. This 'brick-and-click' initiative has increased the material avaiable to our students by allowing for online discussion groups and documentation.
