Legal Research Seminar, presented by the Law Library. For C|M|LAW students, including our MLS and LLM students.

This 60-minute Seminar will earn you 25 points. When you earn 100 points, you are awarded a Law Library Legal Research Letter of Recognition. Earn a Letter of Recognition in the 2016-2017 academic year, and you will be entered into a drawing for a $150 Amazon gift card. Seminar points carry over semester to semester until you graduate, and you can earn multiple Letters of Recognition.

Cleveland-Marshall College of Law graduate Ashley Jones ’11 has great passion for her work as a criminal defense attorney.  She has always enjoyed the ability to help people in need navigate the justice system, but could never pinpoint exactly what set criminal justice apart from other areas of practice in this regard.  That changed recently, when her husband helped illuminate why she is so drawn to criminal defense.

Judge Angela Greene '97, first woman to serve as Superior Court Judge in Barrow, Alaska, will discuss life in the Arctic, the opportunities available, and how to survive, and thrive, in them. She will also talk about her experience as a lawyer off grid in western Alaska for the past 10 years, and share slides of life in Barrow.

All students are welcome. Students graduating in May 2017 and recent graduates are invited to apply for an available Law Clerk opportunity in her chambers. If you are interested, please bring your cover letter, resume and writing sample to the program.
