Pathways to Practice Program

WHAT THEY DIDN’T TEACH YOU IN LAW SCHOOL:
Effective Strategies for Working with Judges, Attorneys, and Clients

Presented by:
Cleveland-Marshall Office of Career Planning
Cleveland-Marshall Law Alumni Association

Presenters:
Daniel J. Myers, Esq., Myers Law, LLC
Joseph P. Dunson, Esq., Dunson Law, LLC

Law school teaches you the law, but nothing can prepare you for the types of personalities, career changes and dealings that you will have in practice. This seminar explores some different personalities that new lawyers encounter in their practice and effective strategies for dealing with them—normal and problem clients, professional and Rambo litigators and the spectrum of judicial temperament. It also explores some situations you may find yourself in, such as leaving a firm. Examples will be provided and you will be encouraged to discuss and interact with the presenters when they discuss the strategies, professional courtesies and ideas. The presenters will provide you with the related rules, including ethical rules, the law, and not-so-common sense.

Pre-registration is requested by Friday, February 12 at careernull@law.csuohio.nulledu (email: careernull@law.csuohio.nulledu ) or 216-687-6871.
