The OCP and Law Library Staff are pleased to present our annual "Getting Ready to Clerk" seminar. Library staff will demonstrate and discuss research tools and techniques you will need to be an effective law clerk this summer. The OCP will share with you what to expect and discuss how to ensure your clerkship is a successful one. A panel of alumni will offer their insight into what types of projects to expect during your law clerk experience. There will be a time for Q & A. The Director of the Bar Admissions Office of the Ohio Supreme Court and an Ohio Bar Examiner will be in the Moot Court room to discuss the Ohio Bar Exam. They will review the structure and content of the Exam.They will also explain how the essay portion of the Test is graded and what bar examiners expect to see in a passing answers. They will also be available to answer questions that you may have on the Exam. Refreshments will be served.

Join Cleveland-Marshall faculty and students for a free screening of the Oscar-nominated movie "Captain Phillips." The event will include a panel discussion with faculty experts including Milena Sterio, a leading expert on maritime piracy. "Captain Phillips" is based on the true story of the 2009 Maersk Alabama hijacking, an incident during which merchant mariner Captain Richard Phillips was taken hostage by pirates in the Indian Ocean.
CM Law's Federalist Society would like you to join them on February 27, 12:20 pm in the Moot court Room for a discussion on Hobby Lobby vs. Sebelius: Can the government require religious employers to provide birth control to employees?
The discusssion will be led by Prof. Robert Destro from the Catholic University of America. CM Law's Prof. Alan Weinstein will be sharing his concerns with allowing exclusions for religious employees.

CMBA Environmental Law Section and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Environmental Law Association will host a panel of environmental law practitioners on Tuesday, March 4. 2014, 5:30-7:00 pm in the Moot Court Room. The panel will consist of attorneys who practice for corporations, law firms, non-profit organizations and/or government agencies. The panelists will discuss their work in the environmental law area.
