Cleveland-Marshall welcomes special guest Mark Smolik - VP, General Counsel, Secretary, Chief Compliance Officer, DHL/Exel Inc.
Mark joined DHL in 2009. He leads the company’s legal, commercial contracts management, compliance, and economic development teams, which includes responsibility for supporting the company’s Williams Lea TAG operations. Mark also serves as Global Chair of the company’s Supply Chain Legal Services Practice Group.

8:30 - 9:30 a.m.: OCP will sponsor a breakfast for students interested in business law/corporate law in LB 60. Mr. Smolik will speak to students about DHL and their new externship program. Invitation only by the Office of Career Planning.
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. : Presentation to faculty and staff in the Moot Court Room.
Noon - 1:00 p.m. : Lunch with students in the Learning Commons. All students are welcome to attend.

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Louis Stokes Scholars Program, launched in the summer of 2012 by Tucker Ellis LLP Partner and then-CMBA President Carter Strang (C|M|LAW ’84), has become an important resource for Cleveland students looking to pursue a career in the legal profession. The initiative has already had an impact at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and is poised to continue providing future generations of quality students.
Cleveland-Marshall College of Law student Brandon Brown has nearly a decade of experience in the legal field, a breadth of experience nearly unheard of for a 22-year old 3L student who will graduate in May.

You will learn the important issues from a legal perspective and can join in the discussion on where immigration policy is heading. Associate Dean and Professor Milena Sterio will moderate a panel discussion featuring Federal District Court Judge, the Honorable Dan A. Polster, Professor Jonathan Witmer-Rich, Professor Joseph Mead, and immigration attorney Melissa A. Gawelek '13.
