First Assignment Fall 2014

Legislation and the Regulatory State

LAW 515 Section 1

Heidi Gorovitz Robertson

Assignment details

Welcome to Leg/Reg! I look forward to working with you this semester. Your readings will be (mostly) from the assigned case book.

The primary text for this course will be The Regulatory State, by Lisa Schultz Bressman, Edward L. Rubin, and Kevin M. Stack (Wolters Kluwer). It is available at the CSU Bookstore, or at: http://www.amazon.com/Regulatory-State-Lisa-Schultz-Bressman/dp/0735594171 Please note: I am using the original edition of the case book, NOT the second edition. The second edition is much, much more expensive and you should be able to find enough new or used copies of the original for far less money.

If you would like to access my class presentations, take notes on them, submit questions electronically, I highly recommend that you register for a Lecture Tools account. We use it in class most days. A single course license will cost $15. You can access it through Lecture Tools on your iPad at https://my.lecturetools.com/users/generic_invite/9a26eb4eb1704a6c9ffd8c6...

For the first class, please prepare:

The Limitations of Tort Law, BRS pgs. 45-61

MacPherson v. Buick Motor Co.

Rotche v. Buick Motor Co.
