First Assignment Spring 2016

Ohio Bar Examination Strategies and Tactics: Essays, the MBE and the MPT

LAW 701 Section 1, 480

Assignment details

For the FIRST CLASS you will take a mock bar exam.

It will be comprised of one Torts essay question, MBE (Multistate Bar Examination) Torts and Real Property multiple choice questions, and one MPT (Multistate Performance Test) question. There is no need to study for this test. It is designed to lay a foundation for our future discussions about the bar exam; give you some insight into how the bar is structured; and give both of us an idea of how much you remember from your first year or so of law school. The test will take the whole class. Please arrive on time so that you can hear the brief instructions and begin on time so you can be done when the class period is over. Please plan to handwrite this exam. You may use your computer for all future work.

MBE Boot Camp The MBE Boot Camp is part of the OBEST curriculum and is scheduled for 4/2 from 9 am to 5 pm in Room 237. It is a really good way to get a head start on the bar exam. Students report that they find it a helpful experience. I wanted to let you know as soon as the date was scheduled so that you can clear your schedule for this great event. You will answer the questions for the book camp in ClassMarker within the scheduled time period. If any of your friends are not in OBEST and would like to participate in the Boot Camp, they are welcome to attend and would also benefit from the experience. We will make arrangements for them to get the questions.

Syllabus The syllabus is in the OBEST binder AND I will email the syllabus directly to you via the course listserv.

Please make sure you can access your Barbri Enrolled Student Center prior to the first class.
