LAW 504 Section 72

Carolyn Broering-Jacobs

Assignment details

For our first class on August 28, please do the following:

(1) obtain your required texts (listed below);

(2) read Legal Analysis: The Fundamental Skill, chapters 1 and 2;

(3) read The Bluebook, pages 1-11; and

(4) if you have one, please bring a laptop or iPad to class.

Your required texts for the course are as follows:

(1) Romantz & Vinson, Legal Analysis: The Fundamental Skill (2d ed. 2009).

(2) Hill & Vukadin, Legal Analysis: 100 Exercises for Mastery (2012).

(3) The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (19th ed.).*

(4) Murray & DeSanctis, Legal Research Methods (2d ed. 2009).

*Please get a print copy of The Bluebook. Electronic options and rentals will work for the other texts, but an electronic copy won't work for The Bluebook, and it's reference tool you'll want to keep, so rental isn't a good option.
