Legal Writing, Research and Advocacy

Assignment details

The folllowing books are required:

1. The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, Twentieth Edition (required) 

2. Writing and Analysis in the Law, Shapo, Walter, Fajans, Sixth Edition, (required)

3. Finding The Law, Twelfth Edition, Berring, (Thompson/West) (required)

4. Assignments & Authorities, Legal Writing Materials. Prof. Sandra Kerber (required): Available for $5.50 & sold only at the Law School in room 115 between the hours of 8-5.Payment is by CHECK ONLY. LB 115 is located on the first floor of the Law Building.

 

The first three books are available at the CSU Bookstore, 2121 Euclid Avenue. You may consult www.csuohiobookstore.edu for text book information. The Legal Writing Materials, Assignments & Authorities booklet is available at the Law School room 115. These materials are essential for completing assignments, so you must purchase the 2015 materials. Please have a blank check with you when you plan to purchase the Assignments & Authorities, as the Law School does not take cash or credit cards. The approximate cost is $5.50.

CAVEAT: The CSU Bookstore anticipates having the required books available by the week of August 10th, 2015.

Your assignment for the first class is to read Chapter One, excluding the problems, in Writing and Analysis in the Law, Sixth Edition, Shapo, Walter, and Fajans; and read in Finding the Law pp 8-16 (The Big Picture).
