First Assignment Fall 2015

Legal Writing, Research and Advocacy

LAW 504 Section 9

Karin Mika

Assignment details

Please purchase the book Just Memos, by Laurel Currie Oates and Anne Enquist and read chapters 1-5, but focus most closely on the chapters covering understanding the legal system, understanding how to read a case, and understanding how to read statutes. Either the Second, Third, or Fourth edition of the textbook will suffice, and it would be financially advantageous if you purchased a used book from either Amazon or another website. New editions are available in the CSU bookstore.

Additionally, please read the wikipedia entry on lost, mislaid, and abandoned property: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost,_mislaid,_and_abandoned_property
