First Assignment Fall 2016

Advanced Legal Research

LAW 677 Section 51

Lauren M. Collins

Assignment details

Advanced Research and Technology in 21st Century Law Practice: I am attaching the Book List. The books are not at the book store for this course because I have chosen two low-cost, e-books, one $ 35 and one that is free. The third book is in the second edition but I think the first edition is a perfectly fine alternative and used copies are available online at lower prices. If there are questions, please contact me at l.m.collins36null@csuohio.nulledu or 687-3547.

We will meet in person for our initial class.

Before class:

Review the Student Help page for Blackboard: https://en-us.help.blackboard.com/Learn/9.1_Older_Versions/9.1_2014_and_.... Please use the University's Blackboard link and log onto the course to see the syllabus and course schedule: https://bblearn.csuohio.edu/MACAuth/login.jsp.

Register for the Teachinglaw.com textbook at https://teachinglaw.com/student-registration. Be sure to select me as your professor when registering.

Read all of Part I: A Five-Step Strategy for Impeccable Legal Research in the Osbeck book. We will revisit each step in detail over the course of the class but it is important to read the entire overview now for context.
