First Assignment Spring 2017

Criminal Procedure I

LAW 621 Section 2

Paul Daiker

Assignment details

Required Course Materials:

We will be using Learning Criminal Procedure (West 2015) (hardback), a casebook by Professor Simmons and Professor Hutchins.

OR

Learning Criminal Procedure: Investigations (West 2015) (Paperback), also by Professor Simmons and Professor Hutchins.

The hardback version of the textbook contains all of the materials for both Criminal Procedure I and Criminal Procedure II. The publisher, knowing that some students will only take one of those courses, also publishes the first part of the textbook (the materials for Criminal Procedure I) as a separate smaller text (Learning Criminal Procedure: Investigations). If you are only going to take Crim Pro I, it is cheaper to buy the paperback. If you are going to take both Crim Pro I and II, from either myself or from Professor Jonathan Witmer-Rich, it is cheaper to buy the hardback.

You must buy one of the two paper copies of the textbook, not an electronic version.

First Assignment: Read chapters 1: Introduction & 2- Common Themes
