Taxation I
LAW 607 Section 1
John T. Plecnik
Tax I, Spring 2017
Welcome to Tax I! Your syllabus is attached, and our required text is also attached and available at no cost to you, courtesy of our very own Professor Deborah Geier. You may also download our required text from the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction via the following link:
https://www.cali.org/books/us-federal-income-taxation-individuals
For our first week of classes, please read the Preface, the Introduction, the Introduction to Unit I, as well as Chapter 1. In addition, please read any Code section or Treasury regulation cited in the assigned text.
We may or may not complete this assignment in the first week, but we will not go beyond it. In addition to our required text, I recommend that you purchase a copy of the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations (Lathrope 2017 is a good option). However, you are free to simply print out the sections of the Code and regulations if you wish to save the money. See you on Monday!
