Hello All:

Please note that this semester Estates and Trusts (LAW 609) (4 credits) is a Web Based course. There will be no in person meetings.  We will conduct the course on Blackboard.  Please familiarize yourself with the platform. The course will "go live" on Monday January 8th. Please contact me after then if you have questions.

The Course: Estates and Trusts is a traditional course providing students with a foundation in the law and policies relating to the transfer of property upon death through probate, non-probate, and intestate transfers. In this course, students will gain an understanding of the basic laws and principles governing the law of estates and trusts and be able to apply those laws and principles to given scenarios. More advanced issues related to wealth transfer, such as in-depth coverage of estate and gift taxation, are beyond the scope of this course.

The REQUIRED TEXT: Jesse Dukeminier & Robert H. Sitkoff, Wills, Trusts, and Estates (9th ed. Wolters Kluwer 2013).
