Federal Courts and the Federal System

Assignment details

Dear Students, 

Our first class will be an introduction to federal litigation. 

We will introduce U.S. Const. Art III - our main subject-matter this semester; 

We will present an anatomy of a typical federal lawsuit (and review key provision of the Fed. R. Civ. Pro.); 

And we will briefly discuss the role of the Judiciary in a federal system. 

Accordingly, in preparation of class, please review:

1. U.S. Const. - Art. I, II, and III

2. Fed. R. Civ. Pro. - Rules 3,7, 12, 26, 30, 33, 34, 36, 37, 56 (Only cursory review); 

3. Course Book (Foundations) - pp. 1-14.
