LAW 504 Section 4, 5

Assignment details

Welcome to the class! As a preliminary matter, I wanted to let the class know that you are welcome to purchase a used version of Just Memos for our textbook, but it needs to be either the 3d or 4th edition. For orientation, please familiarize yourself with Chapters 1-3. Orientation will cover the legal system and the connections between the judiciary and the other branches of government, so you need not memorize the content of the book for the first class. Just Memos has content that will be used the entire first semester.

I would also like for you to purchase the book "Legal Writing with Style," from Amazon. This is a book written by me with co-author Terri LeClercq. You will need the book with the red cover, and not an earlier version once published by Aspen/Wolters-Kluwer. Terri and redid the book and reduced the cost. Remember, the red book from Amazon.

Finally, before orientation, I would like for you to watch these three videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXw-hEB263k

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUCepIy2UUI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGyx5UEwgtA

You might want to watch the videos first before you look at the written material in the casebook.

If you have any questions, please email me at: k.mikanull@csuohio.nulledu

See you soon!
