Assignment details

Our first day of class will be Wednesday, January 20, at 1:30. We will be meeting remotely via Zoom, at this link: https://csuohio.zoom.us/j/86265490248?pwd=M1pocjdHTTk0elZCOEx6NzlyK2ZXUT09

(Meeting ID: 862 6549 0248; Password: 462426). I realize it is Inauguration Day, and we may need to be flexible. Stay attentive for updates.

 

For the semester, class readings/assignments will come from:

1) a book you will need to purchase. Oppenheimer, Leiwant, and Wheeler, Patt v. Donner: A Simulated Casefile for Learning Civil Procedure (any edition). http://www.civilprocedurecasefile.com/

2) free readings accessible electronically that will be made available to you.

3) filings made in actual lawsuits

 

Throughout the semester, we will be working our way through a few different civil cases. Throughout the semester, you will be asked frequently to assume the role of a lawyer, tasked with navigating your procedural and ethical obligations to secure the best result for your client.

 

For the first day of class, read the following background materials.
