For our first week of classes, please read the Preface, Chapter 1, and Assignments I and II (as delineated in your syllabus) in Chapter 2. In addition, please read any Code section or Treasury regulation cited in the assigned text.

We may or may not complete this assignment in the first week, but we will not go beyond it. In addition to our required text, I recommend that you purchase a copy of the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations (Lathrope 2025 is a good option, but statute books dated 2023-2025 should all be fine). However, you are free to simply print out the sections of the Code and regulations if you wish to save the money.
