Your syllabus is attached, and our required text is available for download at no cost to you, courtesy of Professor William Kratzke of the University of Memphis.

Please read the Preface as well as Chapter 1. In addition, please read any Code section or Treasury regulation cited in the assigned text.
We may or may not complete this assignment in the first week or so, but we will not go beyond it. In addition to our required text, I recommend that you purchase a copy of the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations (Lathrope 2025 is a good option, but statute books dated 2024-2026 should all be fine). However, you are free to simply print out the sections of the Code and regulations if you wish to save the money.
