Research Service Policy Statement

The Law Library is a collection of a vast body of complex information. Law librarians are experienced legal researchers, and are able to assist you in locating legal information. Law librarians can help you learn how to use law books and legal information sources, but we cannot do your research for you.

Law librarians cannot give legal advice. They cannot interpret the law for you, or apply the law to your particular set of circumstances. When confronted with a legal problem, you should consult an attorney.
