Monday Morning Message 10.17.22 Carrying the Torch

“Life is no ‘brief candle’ to me. It is sort of a splendid torch which I have a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it over to future generations.” ― George Bernard Shaw

“Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the scholarship you all have so kindly decided to offer me…You all have given me the opportunity to fulfill my destiny and for that I am forever grateful ! My son will one day be able to say that his mother was given a chance despite financial hardship, and this blessing can teach him that if you dream big enough, no obstacle will be big enough.”  -recent 1L Student

Please join us for our 5th Annual Hall of Fame Celebration on November 4, 2022, 5:30pm honoring our 2022 Hall of Fame Honorees.

Our 2022 Hall of Fame Inductees have carried the torch of our mission and have made it burn brightly. They have used their voices and their knowledge of the law to make real change and to make a real difference.

Our annual Hall of Fame event gives us the opportunity not only to honor our distinguished inductees, but also to raise much-needed funds for student scholarships, and it is the only annual fundraising event sponsored by the Law School.

Scholarships are the best way to attract high quality law students, who, in turn, become members of Northeast Ohio’s best and most reliable legal talent pipeline. For a number of our students, a scholarship makes the difference between getting a legal education or sacrificing their dream.

Please make a contribution or pledge this week to our November 4 Hall of Fame celebration of an amount ranging from $125 to $12,500.  I respectfully request that you consider purchasing one or more tickets, be a sponsor, and/or place an ad in the program book to help celebrate one or more of the 2022 inductees.

Our Hall of Fame was established in 2017 to honor the outstanding contributions to the success and prestige of our law school by distinguished alumni, community leaders, and former deans, faculty and staff. For a complete list of all the members of our Hall of Fame, go here: Hall of Fame Members.
