Monday Morning Message 2.27.23 Our Talent Dividend.

“If you hire people just because they can do a job, they’ll work for your money. But if you hire people who believe what you believe, they’ll work for you with blood and sweat and tears.” – Simon Sinek

At CSU|LAW, we have built the most reliable legal talent pipeline in Northeast Ohio for recruiting and educating students with a deep understanding of law, leadership, innovation, and emerging issues for our city, region, and nation.

I call it our Talent Dividend.

Employers often tell us that what distinguishes our graduates from other law schools’ graduates is grit, perseverance, and work ethic.

If you need to add talent to your team, now is the best time to recruit the newest talent, by hiring our students for summer law clerk roles and hiring our students who plan to graduate in May. They are ready to fill full-time entry-level attorney roles, and other roles that leverage the power of a legal background. If you need to add a newly licensed attorney to your team right now, we have graduates who are ready to fill that need.

Our CSU|LAW Student and Career Services professional team is the primary point of contact for local, regional, and national employers to hire our talented law students and graduates. By working with our team, employers participate in on-campus interview programs, develop comprehensive recruitment strategies to engage students and graduates, participate in networking events, and connect with our student organizations.

I encourage you to work directly with Assistant Dean Sarah Beznoska (s.beznoskanull@csuohio.nulledu) to evaluate your hiring needs and determine the best way for you to connect with our talent.

We can create resume books from specific class years for your review, invite you to campus for information sessions to students, and have your attorneys participate in mock interview programs, mentoring, and more. Tell us more about your hiring needs by completing our job posting form, and we will get the word out to our students and alumni.

As our Spring semester continues, Student and Career Services is also hosting ongoing on-campus (or virtual) interviews for all employers to consider our students. On-campus interview programs provide the opportunity to advertise your hiring need to students, receive applicant materials in one packet, make interview selections, and have our team create an in-person or virtual interview schedule for you on the day of your choice. Registration is available here.

If you are a member of our alumni network, we will also connect you to individual students through our strategic mentoring opportunities for students.

For information about what employers think of our students and graduates, see my previous Monday Morning Message about hiring.

We are your Talent Dividend.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay Committed to Living Justice.

Have a great day. Have a great week.

My best,

Lee
