Assignment for first class, August 24, 2016

 

Our textbook is Folberg, Golann, Stipanowich and Kloppenberg, Arbitration: Theory, Practice and Law (Wolters Kluwer Custom Edition 2016)(“Folberg”).

Read pp. 543-571 of Folberg.

 

Read the following cases:

Choice Hotels International, Inc. v. Chewl’s Hospitality, Inc. 91 Fed. Appx. 810 (4th Cir. 2003)

Sotelo v. DirectRevenue, LLC., 384 F. Supp. 2d 1219 (N.D. Ill. 2005), only the Facts and Part II

Brennan v. King, 139 F.3d 258 (1st Cir. 1998), only through part B of the Analysis.

 

Start looking for the text of an arbitration agreement that you are a party to. We will be discussing those agreements in the second class on Aug. 31, 2016.
