Assignment details

Hello All. Welcome Back! I'm looking forward to seeing you all next week. I have 2 announcements for you.

1. Laptop Policy: NO LAPTOPS in class this sememster. It has been my experience that laptops are an impediment to classroom learning and participation. Moreover, recent reserach has found that students who take notes in class using laptops perform worse on conceptual questions than those who take class notes using longhand. Don't let this scare you away from the class. You may of course use your laptop to take notes while preparing for class. Feel free to print those notes out and bring them to class with you so that you can jot down any additional notes from our class lecture and discussion.

2. Reading assignment for week 1 (it's pretty ambitious so we may not get through it all):

Monday: Casebook -- pp 1-41

Wednesday: Whole Women Health v. Hellerstadt (available on Blackboard), Casebook pages 49-60, and 75-93
