For the first day of class, open the attached assignment document. Read it and follow the instructions, including following the hyperlinks to read the assigned materials. Make sure to carefully note exactly what is assigned, otherwise you may end up reading large sections of material that are not assiged. For example, a hyperlink may take you to 8 USC § 1182, which is a very long and detailed immigration statute. The outline, however, instructs you to read only very specific subsections, namely 8 USC § 1182(a)(3)(B)(i)(I), (a)(3)(B)(iii), and (a)(3)(B)(iv). You only need to read those specific sub-sections, not the entire statute.

As you do the reading, think about the questions contained in the assignment document. You do not have to write out answers to those questions, but you should be prepared to discuss them when called upon in class.
