Employment Law
LAW 684 Section 501
Matthew Green
Greetings Class.
As you know Employment Law will be taught remotely. The specific reading assignments for each module (including page numbers in the casebook and any other assigned reading) will be made available to you at 6 p.m. on the Friday preceding the week during which the material will be covered. For instance, our first day of class for fall semester 2023 is Monday, August 21st. The reading assignment for that week will be available to students on Blackboard at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 18th.
The required text for the course is Samuel Estreicher, Michael C. Harper, Elizabeth C. Tippett, Cases and Materials on Employment Law: The Field As Practiced (5th ed. 2016). Please be sure to purchase the 5th edition. Please also note that the authors of the text that we will use this semester also have published another book titled: Cases and Materials on Employment Discrimination and Employment Law: The Field as Practiced. That is NOT the book you should purchase for this course. The book that you SHOULD NOT purchase has “Employment Discrimination” in the title.
The assigned reading for the first week will include pages 1-23 in your text. The Module will contain other material for you to review once it becomes available to you.
I look forward to working with you this semester. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Please enjoy the remainder of your summer break.
Regards,
Professor Green
