Assignment details

The casebook for this course is Owen & Davis, Products Liability and Safety: Cases and Materials, (8th ed., 2020).  You must have the 8th. ed., and in hard copy, not digital.

The assignment for our first class (Thurs., 8/21) is as follows:

(1) (a) Read for background in casebook: pp. 1-2, 8-mid 12, 14-mid 15, 20-mid 21, 25-mid 29.  (b) Also read the attached excerpt, "Uneasy-Easy Case" for Product Liability debate. 

(2) For class discussion, read in casebook: "Theories of Manufacturer Liability": 41-mid 45, bott 50-60 (Intro, Negligence, Privity, Manufacturing Process)

(In case you want to read ahead, the following week we will cover bott 60-75).  I will email you a tentative syllabus for the course sometime before classes begin.
