Cleveland State University College of Law Professor Milena Sterio recently participated in an episode of Talking Foreign Policy, a quarterly program broadcast on Ideastream Public Media, the Cleveland-area NPR affiliate.
The episode, which aired live on March 24, focused on “Assessing Trump’s Board of Peace in the Wake of the U.S.–Iran War.” The discussion brought together leading legal scholars and foreign policy experts to examine the creation of the proposed Board of Peace, its intended role, and its broader implications within the existing international legal framework.
Professor Sterio joined a distinguished panel of experts, including host Michael Scharf (Case Western Reserve University School of Law), Harold Hongju Koh (Yale Law School), Leila Sadat (Washington University School of Law), and Jessica Peake (UCLA School of Law).
Together, the panel explored key questions surrounding the Board’s mandate and legitimacy, particularly in relation to the established United Nations–based international legal order. The conversation highlighted the complexity of contemporary foreign policy decision-making and the role of international law in shaping global responses to conflict.
