Cleveland State Law Hosts Attorney General, Announces New Prosecutor Training Program
Cleveland State University College of Law welcomed Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost to campus this week to announce a new Prosecutor Training Program, an initiative designed to prepare the next generation of practice-ready prosecutors across Ohio.
During his visit, Attorney General Yost emphasized the unique role prosecutors play in the justice system, noting that they are “ministers of justice, not just advocates,” responsible for ensuring that the law is enforced with integrity and purpose.
Launching in Fall 2026, the program will provide a select cohort of students with hands-on training through a combination of clinical experience, externships, specialized coursework, and direct mentorship from practicing prosecutors.
Students will apply in the spring of their first year and begin the program in their second year, gaining real-world experience and professional connections designed to prepare them for careers in public service.
The program also includes financial and professional development support opportunities to help students pursue prosecutorial careers across Ohio, including in rural and underserved communities.
Built on CSU Law’s strengths in criminal law, experiential learning, and community partnerships, the program represents a significant step forward in preparing students to “Learn Law. Live Justice.”
