Monday Morning Message 7.10.2017

“You can be a master, Don't wait for luck. Dedicate yourself and you goin' find yourself, Standing in the hall of fame…. Cause you burn with the brightest flame. And you'll be on the walls of the hall of fame.” -  "Hall of Fame", The Script

As part of our 120th anniversary, I’m excited to announce our C|M|LAW Inaugural Hall of Fame Celebration. On October 19, 2017, 5:30-8pm, we will honor our first class of distinguished law school alumni, friends, and community leaders who have helped make our law school what it is today and what it will be in the future.

Our new Hall of Fame is about honoring our past, planning for our future, investing in our strengths, and believing in ourselves. We have a long, proud history dating back to 1897. Cleveland-Marshall College of Law was the first law school in Ohio to admit women and one of the first in the nation to admit minorities. It was our graduates who laid the foundation for the Cleveland legal profession and who led the fight for civil rights in Northeast Ohio.

Our graduates are everywhere. They are practicing lawyers, corporate counsel, business leaders, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, social justice and civil liberty advocates, Ohio Supreme Court Justices, federal, state, county, and municipal judges, members of Congress, Mayors, City Council Presidents and other elected leaders, government appointees, and public employees.

Our new Hall of Fame is an outgrowth of our covenant with our students and graduates to hold true to our commitments and traditions, dedicated to diversity, opportunity, excellence, and civic responsibility. You’ll be hearing much more about our C|M|Law Inaugural Hall of Fame Celebration- October 19, 2017. In the meantime, save the date!

In honor of our historic 120th anniversary and our new Hall of Fame, please invest in our 120 Scholarship Campaign. Please consider a contribution or pledge today ranging from $120 to $12,000 to $120,000. Please give here: Believe in C|M|LAW. Give Now. or send me an email with your pledge at: lee.fishernull@csuohio.nulledu. Your groundbreaking contribution will be the foundation of our campaign. It would mean a lot to us.

Have a great week.

My best,

Lee
