Judges from the Eighth District Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in the Moot Court room for two criminal appeals: State v. Ibraham Alim (Appeal No. 105164) and State v. Devon Edwards (Appeal No. 105163). The panel presiding over the case will include Judge Mary Jane Boyle, Judge Sean Gallagher and Judge Larry Jones.

Appellate Advocacy Seminar
A distinguished panel of judges will preside over and comment on a mock appellate argument involving the following issues: whether rap lyrics authored by a criminal defendant are admissible at trial and whether Batson v. Kentucky applies to peremptory strikes based on sexual orientation.
ASIL-Midwest, an interest group of the American Society of Internationl law, is co-sponsoring its fourth scholarly works-in-progress conference at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law on Sept. 15-16, 2017. The goal of the conference is to create a friendly, open conversation about works in progress and to foster a Midwestern United States international law community. The workshop will include both full drafts and early works in progress.
