The Cleveland-Marshall Law Alumni Association (CMLAA) is hosting its signature annual continuing legal education event, “Legends of the Law,” in which local legal icons will draw upon their distinguished careers to highlight the changes in the operation of law over time and how the legal field has adapted. The all-day event will take place Friday, November 17 at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
The July 2017 Ohio Bar Exam produced 85 newly minted attorneys from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, the second highest number from any of Ohio’s nine law schools. C|M|LAW also improved its bar passage rate from last year for first-time test takers to 80%, exceeding the state average.
Students are invited to a conversation with Brian Howe, an attorney with the Ohio Innocence Project, on Wednesday, November 1 at noon in LB 60.
In the U.S., more than 500 wrongful convictions have been overturned in just the past two decades alone. Hear about the work of the Ohio Innocence Project to free wrongfully convicted inmates.

Earlier this week, a racist and anti-LGBTQ posting was found on Cleveland State University’s campus which urged LGBTQ students to kill themselves. These ugly and hateful postings are unacceptable and have been removed.
We all must strongly condemn the message presented in the postings. Harassment and abuse are unwelcome at Cleveland-Marshall and CSU. Threats of violence are not permitted whatsoever, and will not be tolerated. These cowardly acts undermine the mission and values of our academic community.
The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law will celebrate it's Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at The Connor Palace Theatre at Playhouse Square. Oberlin College President Carmen Twillie Ambar will deliver the commencement address.
Graduates and their families are invited to attend a dessert reception at the Law School immediately following the ceremony.

Students are invited to join the Center for Health Law and Policy for an evening of networking, information, and fun. The event will be held in the Rawson Learning Commons on October 25 from 5 to 7.
