This Friday marks one of the most meaningful milestones in any lawyer’s life—the release of the July 2025 Ohio bar exam results. It is a day our recent graduates have been anticipating since they started law school. We want to speak directly to every one of you who sat for July’s exam:
If you see your name on that list, know that your achievement represents far more than a passing score. It is the culmination of years of discipline, sacrifice, and persistence. You have proven—once again—that you have what it takes to succeed in our profession. We can’t wait to celebrate your accomplishment. Please join us at the CSU|Law Alumni Association Bar Passage Celebration on Wednesday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. in the Law School Atrium and raise a glass to your extraordinary achievement.
For those who do not yet receive the result you hoped for, hear this clearly:
CSU|Law is your law school for life.
We believe in you, and we will stand beside you every step of the way on your journey to pass the bar. You are part of our community, always.
Our faculty and staff are deeply committed to giving every student the tools to pass the bar. Our bar preparation team, led by Senior Assistant Dean Nick De Santis and Director of Bar Preparation Justin Washburne, has created the P.A.S.S. Program—Passing the Bar through Accountability and Supported Study. P.A.S.S. provides a comprehensive, research-based system that helps students build the habits, skills, and confidence needed to thrive.
Through weekly simulated writing days (essays, multiple-choice, and performance tests), faculty mentoring from our Support Squad, skills workshops, individual counseling, and three simulated bar exams, we ensure that every student is ready for the real thing. Students also benefit from a dedicated study space, “Be Able to Explain” sessions with Student Success staff, and a free, full-service bar review course through our partner Themis/UWorld.
Building on that foundation, we recently launched Breakthrough, a personalized and intensive bar preparation program for repeat bar takers. Breakthrough begins with a comprehensive diagnostic process to uncover the root causes of prior results—whether content gaps, timing, exam skills, or anxiety—and creates a customized, adaptive study plan for each student. Participants receive individual coaching, small-group workshops, and data-driven feedback on thousands of MBE questions and dozens of essays and performance tests.
Equally important, Breakthrough integrates wellness and performance strategies, including sleep, nutrition, stress management, and test-day routines, because passing the bar is as much about mindset as mastery. Full-length simulations build endurance and confidence, and each student’s progress informs a clear, actionable path forward.
For our graduates who endured July's exam, whether you are celebrating a hard-earned success or preparing for another attempt, know that we are immensely proud of you. This is only the start of your journey and lifelong commitment to our shared mission: Learn Law. Live Justice.
We are honored to walk it with you.
Warmly,
Carolyn and Brian
