One of my major goals is to further foster a culture in our C|M|Law community where everyone is empowered to have a voice and a stake in our future. Where we value continuous trust, innovation, and creativity. That’s why we’ve initiated this weekly Monday Morning Message; our twice-a-month newsletter; the new twice-a-month “Dine with the Dean” sessions with students; and “pop-up” dialogues on timely issues such as the presidential election.

Last week a full classroom of our students, staff, and faculty shared their thoughts about the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. The thoughtful, respectful, and uplifting dialogue prompted me to share some thoughts about C|M|LAW and what I’m thankful for during this week of Thanksgiving.

In 1980, Justice Lloyd Brown, Hon. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, and Judge Ronald B. Adrine '73 met in the chambers of Judge Brown to discuss the formation of an African American Bar Association. Soon after, in the Hollenden House Hotel coffee shop, Lillian Greene, James Hardiman '68, Gerald Jackson, and Adrine met to plan what would be an historic meeting.
