Applying as a Visiting Student

Students currently enrolled as J.D. degree candidates at other accredited law schools are eligible for admission as visiting students. Applicants for visiting student status are admitted by the Dean on a space available basis and upon evidence of the ability to handle course requirements. Admission as a visiting student is limited to the particular term and course(s) for which the status is expressly granted.

Registration priority for all courses is given to CSU College of Law degree candidates and the College reserves the right to withhold registration approval or to deregister visiting students if insufficient places are available in any course(s) for the College’s qualified degree candidates.

Subject to the foregoing, all rules and regulations of the Cleveland State University College of Law are applicable to visiting students.

APPLICANTS FOR VISITING STATUS MUST SUBMIT

  • A completed application - Download the application and mail it to the address on the application.
  • No student may register prior to completion, submission and acceptance of an application.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Visitor applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the fall, spring or summer semester.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial Aid for visiting students is awarded and administered by your home law school. Please contact the Financial Aid Administrator at your law school for procedures, policies, and deadlines.

Home School

Non-CSU students need to contact their home school. If you are not enrolled at CSU as degree-seeking student, you must obtain financial aid assistance from the school that is granting your degree (home school). You should check with your home school financial aid office to see what aid might be available while studying at CSU.

Generally, you will need to contact your home school complete a consortium agreement, which is obtained from your home school. These agreements require a signature from CSU's Financial Aid Office. All schools disburse financial aid on different dates and will make aid checks available directly to the school or to the student.
